Today is the last trading day of 2023, a year that surprised most investment strategists. Among unexpected moves was the SURGE IN THE RUSSELL 2000 index in the past two months. On October 27th, the index was down 7.1% for 2023 but it is now up 16.9% with one day left to close the year. Bespoke Investment Group says that this 24% move was the third largest ever in a two-month period for the Russell 2000 (chart). (via @bespokeinvest)
